International Pineapple Day
International Pineapple Day is celebrated annually on June 27th. This day is dedicated to celebrating the pineapple, a tropical fruit known for its sweet and tangy taste, nutritional value, and symbolic representation of hospitality. The day was originally started in 2011 by Andrew and James at Shortwave.
The pineapple’s history and symbolism are rich, spanning from its origins in tropical forests to its association with hospitality and luxury. In colonial America, pineapples were often featured on innkeepers’ signs and used to denote generosity. The fruit’s connection to the concept of hospitality continues to this day.
